Phenology! The theme for our entire year is learning all about phenology which is the study of changes in nature, usually focused on the seasons. We have already jumped in to explore and observe the changes we see happening around our campus. Some of the main things that we will be focusing on this year are weather and using our weather station to track changes; real world problem solving using a STEM model; rocks/geology and animals, focusing on ducks. We are having some help from the MN DNR this year as they are coming up this fall to help us place some nesting boxes for the ducks to try and encourage ducks to stay here next Spring so that we can learn more about what things they need in their habitats to raise ducklings.
